Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) 2025: Potentially the Most Significant Change to Medicare Since Part D!
Plan year 2025 will mark the long-awaited end of the dreaded “donut hole” or coverage gap that has troubled many Medicare beneficiaries for years. Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, there will now be a mandatory $2,000 out-of-pocket maximum on all Stand-alone Part D Prescription Drug Plans (PDP) and Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Plans (MAPD). This has led to anxiety in the industry, with insurers reacting in various ways. This year may prove crucial for reviewing Medicare plans, as many carriers are discontinuing plans. As a result, many may find themselves without a plan on January 1st, either returning to Original Medicare or being mapped into similar plans.
