| The American Rescue Plan Act expanded financial assistance for millions more Americans this year, but will it continue into 2022? Most of our customers are going to see that prices appear to be going up again this open enrollment, while the income threshold to qualify will continue to remain high. This means that many will continue to qualify for subsidies/financial assistance, although the prices may not be as generous. For example, the majority of our clients reside in the Greater Philadelphia area and are insured with Independence Blue Cross. IBX will be introducing new Bronze plans as well as more Silver plans to help mange monthly cost. Pennsylvanians will be entering into their second open enrollment with the state-based health insurance marketplace known as Pennie. Most of our Pennie clients can already see what the new price is and changing can be made relatively easy, but of course we can help facilitate that at no cost to you for service! Complimenting new plan options in PA, come new carriers as well. Cigna will be entering the Individual Under-65 Afforable Care Act market for Plan Year 2022, and other carriers like Ambetter and Oscar are continuing their PA expansions. This includes new counties and also new hospital networks! Pennie Open Enrollment is November 1st to January 15th! For our clients across the bridge in New Jersey, a brand-new carrier is coming to your state, and that is Ambetter from Wellcare! NJ will continue to provide it’s state subsidies in addition to the federal subsidies, all through their state based health insurance marketplace GetCoveredNJ, now heading into its second open enrollment! GetCoveredNJ’s Open Enrollment is November 1st to January 31st For our Maryland Health Connection clients and our clients still using the Federally Facilitated Marketplace known as Healthcare.gov, you will find many new plan and carrier options as well. The biggest news of Open Enrollment 2022 is that Aetna is returning the ACA market, and United Healthcare is expanding it’s footprint in a huge way! UHC did return for the 2021 open enrollment, however their options were few. For 2022 the nation’s top health insurer is returning to some key markets like Florida and Texas and offering competitively-priced options with great network access! Please note, UHC and Aetna will not be in PA, NJ, DE, and many other states for plan year 2022, but they have future plans to continue expansion Maryland Health Connection and Healthcare.gov’s Open Enrollment is November 1st to January 31st! These are plans that PAY YOU directly (or the provider) when unforeseen events occur, similar to Aflac (we offer them too) but endorsed by Independence Blue Cross.
